Overview
The Gen 25 is our most powerful hydrogen fuel system, introduced in April 2025 for very large diesel engines with capacity up to and exceeding 20 litres. It is based on the highly successful Gen 20 design but with dramatically increased electrode plate area, current carrying capacity and gas output.
The electrode plate area has been increased from 6,800 cm² to 16,200 cm² — over double the Gen 20's electrode area. This larger surface area allows the Gen 25 to produce far more gas without proportionally increasing current and voltage input, making it significantly more efficient per litre of hydrogen produced.
Efficiency Advantage
A major advantage of the Gen 25 is that it can be fitted to smaller truck engines where it produces more hydrogen than the stoichiometric volume required for efficient combustion. This excess hydrogen output actively cleans the engine internally, while placing a smaller relative load on the alternator/battery system.
Enclosure
The Gen 25 fits into a DeWalt Toughbox 2 or a 45×30×30cm steel or aluminium enclosure. The internal toughened steel mounting frame provides superior protection and rigidity compared to direct DeWalt mounting.
