For trucks with air brakes/compressors: the standard compressor air draw from after the primary air filter MUST be capped, and an alternative filtered air intake installed. Not doing so risks pressurising accumulators with hydrogen. See detailed installation guide.
Gen 15 / 20 / 25 for Trucks
All three mid-to-large HFS systems are proven performers on commercial trucks. The Gen 15 suits engines to 10L; the Gen 20 handles up to 16L; the Gen 25 is built for 20L+ engines in the heaviest transport applications.
Kitech K40 independent road test (June 2023) on a 27-tonne, 7.2L 2022 diesel truck:
- Test 1: 31% fuel savings
- Test 2: 32% fuel savings
- 57% CO₂ reduction
- Significant reductions in particulate matter, hydrocarbons, NOx and SO₂
Twin Gen 20 systems are in use at Coogee Chemicals (16L truck) and on a 19-litre diesel trawler in Townsville, QLD.
