Installation Manual

The HFS installation manual covers all models from Gen 10 through Gen 25. Installation by a qualified automotive electrician is required. Do not attempt to self-install.

General Installation Overview

  1. Select an appropriate mounting location — away from heat sources, with adequate airflow
  2. Mount the system using the provided brackets or custom steel frame
  3. Connect 8mm B&S twin core cable to the vehicle battery via a 30–40A circuit breaker and constant-on solenoid relay
  4. Connect the HHO gas output tube to the engine air intake (before the turbo on turbocharged engines)
  5. Fill electrolyte reservoir with distilled/resin-filtered water
  6. Set PWM controller to recommended current (25–30A for Gen 10, 26–40A for Gen 15/20)
  7. Start engine and verify system operation — check for bubbles in flow indicator
CRITICAL — Trucks with Air Compressors

The standard compressor air draw port (after the primary air filter) MUST be capped. Install an alternative dedicated air intake with filter for the compressor. See the full truck installation guide for details.

Operation

The system operates automatically when the engine is running. The solenoid relay ensures the system activates only when voltage is present (engine running) and deactivates when the engine is off.

Servicing Schedule

  • First service: 3 months from installation
  • Ongoing: every 6 months
  • Resin filter capsule: every 5,000 hours / 50,000 litres
